The Tahe family made sterling silver cuffs from the ‘70s through the late 2000s. This piece is another example of their brilliantly simple work that is at once emblematic and atypical. These pieces hide when you need them to and stun when you need them to. They’re versatile pieces that is a testament to the brilliant tradition of Navajo silversmithing.

They can be worn with a simple denim shirt or gussied up with a silk dress. I’ve worn them with both and no one looks at me strangely. Something I love about them is that they hold their value. In part because Verna and Franklin don’t work in silver much anymore. They do more affordable pieces in copper, which I suggest you check out. It’s the same brilliant work at more approachable prices, since the spike in silver prices during the 2008 recession. My point is: Get classic pieces, of course. However, check out the artists new work and the works of disparate artists.

Anyway, I send a chemical free cleaning cloth with every purchase. Use it until it falls apart, if you see fit. When it does, just get another lint free cleaning cloth and polish it again. Also, mild castile soap cleans sterling silver pieces quite well. So you can use that also.

To know if this will fit, look at the measurement picture. Measure your hand near your wrist (above and below) and that’ll tell you how low the piece will drop. Since these are artisan pieces, they tend to come in one or a few sizes. The intent is “you wear it as it fits you”. Obviously, if it’ll fall off your hand that won’t work. But for the most part, it should fit most people. Also, since it’s silver, it’s bendable.
